How To Train Your Brain To Succeed

How did Bruce Lee become the most famous martial artist?  How did Michael Jordan become the greatest basketball player of all time?  The answer is training, and although both men are well known for their physical abilities, it’s their mental training that took them to the next level.

These master’s of their craft were able to train their brain to succeed. The good news is that you can also train your brain to reach these types of mastery levels.  Let’s explore how we get that done.

Throughout his career, Michael Jordan looked to a man by the name of Tim Grover to help him reach and contain a measure of success that still proves difficult to repeat. In the Sports Illustrated article, Relentless Attack: How Tim Grover Became One of the NBA’s Most Revered Trainers, the “Trainer” reveals what set Jordan apart from all other players.

“Jordan was a shining example of what Grover calls a Cleaner, a strong-willed leader who is never satisfied with accomplishments and has a “dark side,” an instinctual drive to succeed at all costs.”  That dark-side is a part of Jordan that many don’t know about, for your convenience here’s a little taste.

Michael Jordan’s last shot as a Bull

I’m no way am I suggesting that you go punching people in the face in order to successfully reach your goals, I’m just giving you an example of the mind-state possessed by many successful people. Even though some have been critical of Tim’s methodology, no one can argue with the fact that it works.

If you check out his website, you’ll see pictures of him with Michael Jordan and other athletes he has helped throughout the years in addition to his 3 training systems.

In his video for his Relentless System, he preaches the importance of mental toughness.  I must warn you there is a bit of harsh language in the video so it’s probably NSFW, depending on where you work.  Have you ever thought about that? Saying that something is NSFW really depends on where you work, right?

If you work in a Rap studio anything is pretty much Safe For Work (SFW) right?  Sorry, back to the blog. This guy is big on training you to delete all the “BS that holds you back”.  In other words, he helps you train your brain.  He believes that many people make up excuses that keep from reaching your full potential.  Most likely this is due to fear.

Be Like Water

If Tim Grover is a little too rough around the edges for you, how about some Bruce Lee.  Yes, I know he is known for literally beating people up, but he only resorted to violence when necessary.  In this video, Bruce gives you his philosophy on training your mind to adapt to any situation.

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.”

How is it possible that Bruce Lee was able to take down so many foes at once?  How was Michael Jordan able to get fouled by 3 players and still get off and make the shot while falling to the hardwood?

Their training not only prepared them for the obstacles they would face but also helped them to adapt to the opposition with reflexes that automatically jumped into action before their brain even had a chance to process the situation at hand.  That’s what we are capable of if we put our minds and bodies through the rigors of a real training regimen.

Why does the military put soldiers through Boot Camp before active duty?  Think about that.  It’s because they don’t want to lose.  They want to ensure victory no matter what the opposition or obstacles.  Now, the way I see it, you clicked on this link for a reason.

If that reason is anything other than a real desire to reach a specific goal, then thanks for coming by.  I love ya, but see you later.  This isn’t for you.

If you clicked on this link or visited this page because you are truly in search of and are ready to take a serious approach toward reaching your full potential, take some kind of MASSIVE ACTION.  Begin to train your brain to succeed right now while you are pumped up, then build off that momentum.

The truth is, in most cases (almost all) no one is going to come to your house and hand you the life you want.  Even if they do it’s because of some action you took to bring them to your doorstep. For the rest of, we’ll have to train ourselves to go out there and get it by any means necessary (legally of course).

There you go. How to train your brain to succeed. So, what do you think? Leave a reply in the comment box below.
